What this is
Unmarked
No predatory algorithms, no data scraping, no privacy invasion, no advertising. Just travel tales by travel bugs.
Unmarked is a small, independent travel blog. Journeys are written and published by one person — not by a feed, not by a model, not by a panel of editors deciding what you should see today.
What we won’t do
- No algorithmic ranking.Posts appear in the order they happened. The latest day comes first, the earliest comes last. That’s the whole sorting policy.
- No data scraping or third-party trackers. The site doesn’t embed Facebook pixels, Google Analytics, ad networks, or heat-maps. If you want to know how many people read a post, the answer is “some, hopefully.”
- No advertising. No banner ads, no sponsored posts, no affiliate links sneaking gear recommendations into the narrative.
- No retention games. No infinite scroll, no push-notification harassment, no “you have unread updates” badges. Subscribe by email if you like — one message per published day, unsubscribe in one click.
What you can do
- Read the journeys and the daily entries.
- Leave a comment under your name; reply to others.
- Subscribe to a single journey or to everything — emails go out only when something new is published.
- Grab the RSS feed if you keep a reader.
What we collect
The minimum needed to run the site. When you comment we keep your name, the body of the comment, and a hashed version of your IP address (used only for spam control and bans). Email is optional and stored only if you tick “notify me of replies” or subscribe to a journey. We never sell, share, or analyse this data.
