Renjo Valley & the diamox

Started on diamox today after a pretty severe headache. Most of the team are at various stages of AMS, but nothing that's worrying Balram.

We made it to our next camp in less than three hours, so Niall and I decided to walk up one side of the Renjola to 5,400m just to acclimatise a little more — and really to kill time. As usual, the afternoon cloud made the trip useless for photographs, but I got a few of a glacial lake at nearly 5,200m.

The glacier is completely gone now and has been for several seasons. You can still make out where it slowly egressed from the mountainside — in some parts it almost looks like a beach, millennia of ancient ice having crushed the rock below into sand. Mornings and evenings are now well below freezing. Around -10° last night and expecting lower as we've gained another 500m. The only goal now is to stay warm and stay healthy.
